In summary
1. Share the tool with others in your decision making environment.
We aren’t always aware of our own blind spots. By getting others to complete the assessment tool (both decision makers and decision advisors) and comparing results you may identify opportunities you would otherwise miss.
2. Use the Collaborative Decision Making Framework to facilitate conversation.
If you identify opportunities for improvement you can use the Collaborative Decision Making Framework as a way of engaging with both Councillors and the Executive about possible interventions.
3. Undertake a decision making audit to get an independent perspective.
If you really want to improve the efficacy of collaborative decision making undertake an audit to get a snap shot for where you are at across the decision making environment
